Workshops

The purpose of workshops is to provide a more interactive and focused platform for presenting and discussing new and emerging ideas. The format of paper presentations may include oral presentations, poster presentations, keynote lectures and panels. Depending on the number of presentations, workshops can be scheduled for 1 day or 2 days. All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book, under an ISBN reference, and on digital support. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The proceedings are submitted for indexation by DBLP, Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index, EI, SCOPUS, Microsoft Academic, Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar.

Scope

Artificial intelligence (AI) approaches are a major component in healthcare across disease prediction, patient outcomes, image interpretation, and triaging capabilities. It is critical that clinicians become integral to the algorithmic development and clinical applications of this methodology. We are seeking speakers who are clinicians or researchers that collaborate at various stages during the design and implementation of novel computational approaches targeting rapid clinical translation, or those working at the intersection of bioinformatics and clinical practice. This workshop will solicit papers that have identified clinical needs that can be addressed by AI and that can provide insight into successes and failures of bringing findings into the clinic. We hope to encourage conversation around how improved collaborations can enhance health care systems.

Scope

Healthcare delivery undergoes a rapid change from traditional processes towards the use of digital health interventions and personalized medicine. While hospitals and health care providers introduce hospital information systems, electronic health records and telemedicine solutions for more efficient workflows within and beyond institutions, patients may choose between a wide range of digital health applications provided by wearables and mobile phone applications supporting their self-management, health and well-being. However, the question of how sustainable digital health diffusion can be successfully reached is not sufficiently solved yet. Our workshop seeks for submissions dealing with this question and especially the diffusion and adoption of digital health innovations. We welcome research and theory papers as well as case studies and best practice examples.
